Working For A Community-Based Approach
Dinniman's approach to community problems has resulted in the bringing together of individuals and groups to form partnerships for change. Government can't alone solve the social needs and concerns of a community. However, government can be the catalytic agent to bring people together to solve these issues.
Examples of the success of this approach includes the following community-based programs that Andy played a leading role in creating as County Commissioner and State Senator:
Safe Harbor Shelter... Has gotten the homeless off the streets and has helped these individuals overcome their personal obstacles, so they can help themselves.
The Chester County Gleaning Program... Based on the biblical concept of gleaning, this program, created by Dinniman, has collected over 350 tons of fresh produce for the hungry in our community.
Share The Harvest... An annual event where the faith-based and non-profit community come together to examine community problems, share approaches, and develop programs, so that all in the community can be helped and share in the abundance with which our area has been blessed.
